POSITION SUMMARY
carmen Schools of Science & Technology is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Middle School Science Substitute Teacher to provide consistent classroom instruction and support student learning for the remainder of the school year.
The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging science instruction, maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment, and supporting students' academic and personal growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education, skilled in classroom management, and committed to helping students become critical thinkers and self-directed learners.
This position requires a consistent, long-term commitment rather than on-call availability.
COMPENSATION
$200= Full Daily Rate
$100 = Half Day Rate
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field preferred.
Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching or substitute teaching license, or eligibility to obtain the appropriate license.
Knowledge of middle school science concepts, curriculum, and instructional strategies.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate science lessons.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, structured learning environment.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in using technology and online curriculum platforms to support instruction.
Passion for science education, student achievement, and college readiness.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative school environment.

Apply best practices in teaching and classroom management.
Commit to a culture which promotes learning, respect, trust, and responsibility.
Incorporate technology into daily teaching.
Maintain an openness to feedback from the learning community including taking advice and making corrections in the spirit of continuous improvement.
Read and respond to communication (e-mail, phone messages, etc.) daily.
Supervise students; ensuring safety at all times.
